On the 19th July 2023, I lost my beloved cat Hennessey. Hennessey was 13 years old. He was one of three cats I have. There was Hennessey, his wife Kiara and his daughter Amber. Unknown to me, Hennessey had cancer of the bowel. For 13 years Hennessey enjoyed good health. Suddenly in April this year, he began to gradually lose weight and his stool’s changed. His decline was rapid out of no where. I had to euthanise him following a haemorrhage he had. Hennessey was dying anyway. My daughter and I are grief stricken. Our remaining cats appear lost and sad. I think they knew before we did that Hennessey was leaving us. I was with Hennessey at the end. He twitched his ears when I prayed for him just before the drug was given. Hennessey loved me with his final breath. This gives me comfort, but also hurts the most. Hennessey was the healthiest of the three, so his sudden rapid decline took me by surprise. I am hurting so much, there is a big balloon of tears in my chest. The mornings are the most painful. The flat is not the same anymore. I miss him so much. Thanks for listening
